The Valuable Farmer

I just read an article saying,if more people in the state of Ga bought local produce,it would help the state's economy. Well, let me be the first to say, that I've been doing my part since I was 16 years old, and my parents have always supported farmers markets, and roadside sellers. There is nothing like the taste and texture of fresh fruits and veggies, and there is something about getting to know the person who grows your food too.

Here are my reasons why farmers are truly valuable to the economy:

1. He nourishes the soil(if he's organic)by putting more nutrients into the soil to feed the plants, but he also feeds Mother Earth.

2.He nourishes us(more energy),and by nourishing us,he's building a strong healthy community/workforce.

3. Teacher-most farmers I have met are very willing to share how to grow something, give tours of their farm and explain how everything works. Many don't sugarcoat farm life either.

4. Consumers- They must buy animal feed, sprinklers, trucks, containers and so much more to keep their business running too.

So, those are a few reasons why farmers are valuable to me,can you think of anymore reasons?
Now go out and buy some local produce! It's better for you and your local economy.

I'm back,and let's try this again!

Let's face it, keeping a blog is really hard to keep fresh and interesting at times, but it's really fun. Since being on a long break, I've come up with a lot of ideas and I've had the time to become really pissed off with things.

Dryer Sheets Can Do What?

Go and check out http://wisebread.com for an interesting article about 12 cool things to use dryer sheets for. Many of the uses I have heard of and have used, but there were a few that I've never even thought about. If you are frugal like, moi you'll find it very helpful. If your not frugal then you'll probably not care-oh well!

I thought the most helpful was using the dryer sheet to clean your blinds. Not only does it clean your blinds, but it also helps to keep the blinds less dusty. Everyone that knows me--knows that I HATE Dusting(sound like Angry Smurf, don't I)! To me its kinda like laundry, never ending, but I don't mind doing laundry.

Well, let me stop and just say....go and checkout the article and come back and comment on which things from the list were most helpful.

This is such a sad and senseless story. In my neighborhood,my family and I heard those celebratory shots going off too. My 13 year old daughter,Kennedy wondered why people would shoot a gun to celebrate and not firecrackers. She kept on saying,"What if one of those bullets goes through some one's house and hits them." She also said,"They don't think.....what goes up,must come down.....and it will come down really fast."

Our family had a nice conversation about the ignorance of celebratory gunfire, while we sat and watched the Ball drop.

Now, our city has this tragic story as a headline. I hope this story will be lesson for many people out there.....if you want to celebrate-then celebrate!

When I think of guns, It doesn't make me want to celebrate. Guns to me are for: protection, hunting(a reason to celebrate,I guess)and warfare.

I hope whoever did this, will turn his/her self in.
